About Belo Horizonte Bus Station Belo Horizonte was the first Brazilian capital to have a Bus stations Inaugurated during Benedito Valadares government, in 1941, It used to be in Rua do Contorno, close to Feira de Amostras. The work, initialized only in August 1969, was completed in the begging of 1971 and gave the terminal the title of largest and more modern bus terminal of Latin America. After the address and infrastructure’s change, the terminal also changed its name to Bus terminal Governador Israel Pinheiro. Nowadays, the place receives about 17 million passengers a year and the main bus companies that work there are Águia Branca, Cometa, Gardênia, Itapemirim, Joia, Pluma, Real Expresso and Útil. Its administration is done by the City Hall since June 2003.
