The buses leave to the following Brazilian states: Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul e para o Distrito Federal. There are also trips to Minas Gerais countryside.

About Belo Horizonte Bus Station
Belo Horizonte was the first Brazilian capital to have a Bus stations Inaugurated during Benedito Valadares government, in 1941, It used to be in Rua do Contorno, close to Feira de Amostras. Do to the demand increase, the small terminal, that only had space for ten buses, was unable to attend its passengers.
In 1956, during Israel Pinheiros government, a project that intended to expand and modernize the place was approved, task delegated to architects Lúcio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer. The work, initialized only in August 1969, was completed in the
begging of 1971 and gave the terminal the title of largest and more modern bus terminal of Latin America.
After the address and infrastructure’s change, the terminal also changed its name to Bus terminal Governador Israel Pinheiro. Nowadays, the place receives about 17 million passengers a year and the main bus companies that work there are Águia Branca, Cometa, Gardênia, Itapemirim, Joia, Pluma, Real Expresso and Útil.
Its administration is done by the City Hall since June 2003.

How to get there
The bus terminal is about a block away from Rio Branco Square, so those going by car can choose to get the through the avenues Afonso Pena, Paraná or Santos Dumont, or through the streets Caetés or Curitiba.
Those going by public transportation should disembark at station Terminal Lagoinha and cross the footbridge that connects the subway to the terminal.
