About Tietê Bus Station
Considered to be the biggest bus station in the country, the Terminal Rodoviário Governador Carvalho Pinto, also known as Rodoviária Tietê (Tietê Bus station), has a daily flow of 90 thousand people, ranking under only the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York, which gets about 200 thousand passengers per day.
First opened in 1982, in 2002 the Bus station went through an improvement process on which the check-in system became alike the one found in airports. During the reforms, some Bus companies applied on the construction of VIP areas with special services for their passengers, such as Wi-Fi, television and reading spots.
The terminal accounts 290 employees to offer the maximum comfort and security to the passengers and to keep its more than 120 thousand square meters organized. How to reach
The Bus terminal is close to Marginal Tietê (Tietê river’s border street), So people who come by car from Lapa or Castelo Branco highway must get the local lane and follow the indications available right after passing the Center Norte Mall (Shopping Center Norte). People coming from Penha or Ayrton Senna and Presidente Dutra highways must get the overpass to Cruzeiro do Sul Bridge (Ponte Cruzeiro do Sul).
