- Cristo Redentor
Opened in 1931 and considered one of the 7 wonders of the world in 2007, the Christ the Redeemer has 30 meters tall plus an 8-meter pedestal. It stays in the top of Corcovado´s Hill, more than 700 meters above sea level. There you can appreciate one of the most beautiful views of Rio de Janeiro.
Tip - How to get there:
By Train: the train makes a 20 minutes ride in the middle of Atlantic Forest until getting to Corcovado. The tip is to buy the tickets before to avoid the crowded lines.
By Van: The vans depart from “Largo do Machado” (Machado Square), “Praça do Lido” (Lido piazza) and “Copacabana”,
By Public transportation: “Metrô Largo do Machado” (Machado Square Subway) + Bus.
- Pão de Açúcar
Sugar Loaf is one of the nature´s landmark in Rio de Janeiro. Composed by Urca´s Hill (227m) and Sugar Loaf Hill (396m), surrounded by native vegetation it stays in the entrance of Guanabara´s Bay.
In 1912 the trolley that takes to Sugar Loaf was opened. There are two rides, the first one connects Babylon’s Hill and Urca´s
Hill; the second connects Urca´s Hill to Sugar Loaf.. From the top you can have a gorgeous view of the city and other points like, Botafogo, Copacabana and Ipanema´s beaches, the “Christ the Redeemer”, Rio-Niterói´s Bridge, Pedra da Gávea (Gavea´s Rock) and others.
Tip – Checking opening hours:
Ticket Office opening hour: 8:00am
Ticket Office closing hour: 7:50pm
The Park closing time is always 1 hour after the ticket office closes.
Each ride takes approximately 3 minutes and the rides are available from 20 to 20 minutes, or until when the maximum capacity is reached (65 people).
- Lapa
Lapa is a lively neighborhood, especially at night, where its different bars, restaurant and clubs receive many different people in the search for music and fun. The music attends to all tastes, but of course the main rhythm is samba.
Also, Lapa´s arch duct is one of Rio´s post cards, with its 42 arcs and 270 meters long. The arc duct was built in 18th century, initially with the water distribution function, carrying water from Carioca River springs to Rio´s population. Since 1896 it is used as a pathway to the trolleybus that connects Rio´s downtown to Santa Teresa´s neighborhood.
- Copacabana Beach
The most famous beach of Brazil is located on the southern area of Rio de Janeiro´s city, on a district with the same name. It is always full of people from around the world looking for natural beauties, practicing sports, and of course beach, sea and sun.
“Avenida Atlantica´s” seaside walkway (Atlantic Ave), with its black and white Portuguese rocks is a landmark especially for its curious sea wave shape designed in the ground. There you can find kiosks with food, snacks and drinks. Also Copacabana offers many different sport events and music too.
- Jardim Botânico
The Botanical Garden was founded by D.João VI in 1808, the main objective was to bring and adapt Oriental India´s plants to Rio´s climate. The place holds around 137 hectares and it shows exotic plants, centenary trees and a rare collection of orchids and bromeliads. In addition, the Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro is kind of a refuge place in the middle of the city, where bird’s songs and sounds of running water can heal your soul.

Mondays: from noon to 5pm.
Tuesday to Sunday: 8am to 5pm.
